Thank you!!

A huge thank you to our caregivers and community members who contributed nearly 6,000 items in 2018 as part of our centennial anniversary “Community Acts of Caring” project. Continuing the 100-year tradition of “caring for all,” we collected:

  • More than 100 pints of blood
  • 183 baby items
  • 260 emergency shelter items
  • 298 toys for children
  • 360 dog and cat items
  • 611 hygiene supplies
  • 710 backpacks and school supplies
  • 1,044 articles of clothing
  • 1,069 non-perishable food items
  • 1,337 books

In addition, our caregivers logged nearly 300 hours volunteering for various local nonprofit organizations.

The goal of the program was to donate quantities of 100 or more of the monthly item to the campus-specific beneficiary. Donation barrels were placed in all four hospitals and many office buildings to serve as the collection place for the monthly items.

The list of Central Oregon organizations who received and distributed the donations included Toys for Tots, Family Access Network, Neighbor Impact, Redemption House, American Red Cross, Central Oregon Veteran’s Outreach, Jefferson County LINC and the Bend Food Project.
